Denver for Venezuela
One cocktail. Nineteen local businesses. One community coming together to help.
Following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24th, Denver restaurants and bars have joined forces to raise funds for emergency relief efforts. Through this citywide initiative, participating locations will donate proceeds from designated menu items to support humanitarian aid for families affected by the disaster.
100% of proceeds from our signature Catira cocktail will be donated to earthquake relief efforts through Global Empowerment Mission (GEM). The Catira cocktail will be available at all 19 locations for the duration of this fundraising campaign.
Together, we can help provide critical supplies, emergency assistance and hope to communities facing an unimaginable recovery.
What happened in Venezuela?
Starting on June 24th, a series of powerful earthquakes impacted parts of Venezuela, with some of the most severe effects felt in and around the cities of Caracas and La Guaira. Homes, businesses and critical infrastructure were damaged, leaving many families extremely vulnerable. Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and tens of thousands of people remain missing.
While the headlines may move on, the reality on the ground remains urgent. People are facing damaged homes, interrupted access to basic necessities and the difficult process of rebuilding their lives. For many communities, recovery will take months—not days.
In moments like these, humanitarian aid becomes essential. Access to food, clean water, hygiene supplies, medical support, temporary shelter, and rebuilding resources can make an immediate difference for families navigating the aftermath of disaster.
This fundraiser is our way of helping ensure that support reaches those who need it most!
Why is it personal for us?
Catira was founded by husband-and-wife team Manuel and Clare Sucre. Manuel was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where many of his family members, friends, and loved ones still live today. Clare was born and raised in Denver, where her family owns Little Pub Company, a collection of neighborhood bars and gathering places that have been part of the city's hospitality community for decades.
Together, the couple created Catira to share the food, culture, hospitality, and spirit of Venezuela with Denver. What started as a restaurant became a way to build connections between two communities that mean everything to them.
When the earthquakes struck Caracas, La Guaira, and surrounding areas, the devastation felt deeply personal. For Manuel, it impacted the country that shaped him and the people he loves. For Clare, it became a call to rally the city and hospitality community that raised her.
That's why this effort extends beyond Catira. Alongside Little Pub Company, we've united locations throughout the city to raise funds for families affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.
This fundraiser is more than a charitable campaign. It's a reflection of what hospitality is all about: showing up for people when they need us most.
From Caracas to Denver, we're honored to bring our communities together in support of Venezuela.

The cocktail that gives back
The Catira Cocktail
Our signature cocktail is inspired by one of Venezuela's most beloved traditional drinks: papelón con limón.
Made with Diplomático Venezuelan rum, fresh lime, and papelón (unrefined sugar cane), the Catira is bright, refreshing, and unmistakably Venezuelan.
For the duration of this fundraiser, 100% of proceeds from every Catira cocktail sold across the city of Denver will be donated directly to earthquake relief efforts. To help maximize the campaign's reach, Diplomático Rum has pledged an additional $1 donation for every Catira cocktail sold.
Whether you're enjoying one at Catira or supporting the initiative at one of our participating partners, every cocktail purchased helps provide meaningful assistance to families recovering from disaster.
Drink with purpose. Support Venezuela.
